About Us

Culturetracker’s core business is focused on organisation culture surveys and opinion research but we also operate divisions which specialise in compliance (legal and standards) and continuous improvement. We see the services as complementary as they form a development trail for any successful and ethical organisation. Compliance with the law in the country of operation is a given minimum and the achievement of standards such as ISO9000, 14001 etc. demonstrate a commitment to key elements of performance. Our surveys can help you measure your performance (as distinct from your compliance) in terms of its impact on customers, employees and other stakeholders. These results are used to stimulate measurable improvement as in the diagram below:


 

Richard J BarnesRichard J. Barnes, MCIPD, Tech IOSH, is the Managing Director of Culturetracker.com Limited which was incorporated in 2006. Richard entered the world of consultancy in 1988 after a career in personnel management and industrial relations. He was a full time official of the Transport Salaried Staffs’ Association and a Personnel Manager with London Regional Transport, Wiggins Teape and the James River Corporation of Virginia USA as well as having a short spell as an Industrial Relations Manager with Bovis on the London Bishopsgate Development in the late 1980s. Over the last 23 years, Richard has worked as a consultant with many well known organisations such as the Kingfisher Group, AMEC, Lucas Diesels and Anglian Water on major change initiatives in his own right and as Principal Associate Consultant for Anglia University’s Business Transformation and Total Quality Units. He has also provided support to many medium sized businesses on Personnel, Quality and Business growth related projects.

He is co-author of "TQM in Action", a book which outlines a successful structured approach to cultural change through TQM. He is also the author of "The Improvement Toolkit", a guide to continuous improvement tools and techniques as well as "High Fives" a motivational guide book for improvement and project team members.

Richard developed the original culture survey in 1991 and tested it in surveys of managers in over a hundred different companies. It has been used by many large and medium sized organisations including Divisions of Virgin, BT, DFDS, Amec, and Superdrug Stores. He also led ground breaking research in 2000-2003 into the links between organisation culture, customer satisfaction and business performance in the retail sector, working with Superdrug, Tesco and the Dixons group on the mining and correlation of related data.

After nearly 25 years Culturetracker.com Limited has an established client base in the UK as well as long standing relationships with Academia and a National Training Organisation. In addition to our core survey business, our consultants can provide support in any area of Quality, Safety, Environmental, Human Resource Management and Business Development.
